Montreal Saputo StadiumWith a pristine, natural grass field, a prime location in Olympic Park, and easy access by subway or car, Saputo Stadium has become a privileged site for soccer in Montreal, Quebec and Canada.

The stadium was inaugurated in 2008 and constructed at the cost of 17 million dollars. The sum of $7.5M was donated by the Saputo family, while $9.5M were financed on a 25-year span.

To meet MLS criteria, an additional public investment of 23 million dollars from the government of Quebec will be injected in the stadium in order to increase capacity to more than 20,000 seats by 2012.

The stadium has an empyteutic lease with the Olympic Installations Board (OIB) whereby the stadium authority can proceed to expansion and development of its infrastructures on the current site, as long as plans are submitted and approved by the OIB.

A training field is located 200 meters from the stadium field. The stadium expansion plan includes the installation of a synthetic surface on this training field.

Capacity: Currently 13,034 but will be increased to more than 20,000 by 2012
Pitch: Natural grass, 120 yards x 77 yards (110 meters x 70 meters)
Corporate boxes: Corporate suites: Currently 16, and 12 corporate marquees, but 50 suites in 2012
Parking: 6 underground parking lots, for a total of 4,000 parking places
Subway: Accessible by two stations: Viau and Pie IX
